Tessuti Favorite Top

 Tessuti Favorite Top

I made this top from a free pattern downloaded from Tessuti Fabrics in Australia. I made it before in a brown knit fabric and wore it a lot. It was getting worn and I wanted another a bit longer.  This fabric is from Fabric Warehouse in Warren, Michigan. It's a soft grey blue knit and content is unknown. Most of their fabrics are 3.99 to 7.99. A large percentage of their stock is home decorator and upholstery fabric. The apparel fabric is around the perimeter of the warehouse. I'm a huge fan of knit fabric and buy it whenever I find it.

This time I added one inch to the length. It made a difference. This pattern comes together quick with a serger.I used a baby zig zag for the neckline and hems.
It's tempting to make another with the deep red knit I found.

Alice +Olivia , Vogue Patterns V1261

alice + olivia , V1261

I finally got my Bernina sewing machine fixed. It hasn't made buttonholes for a while. I was used to it not working well. Now that it's fixed, I almost have to get used to it working properly again.

I bought this fabric from Emma Onesock a while ago and have been wanting to make V1261, an Alice + Olivia pattern with it. I was inspired by Amanda's Adventures in Sewing's version . I made my seams similar to her's. I sewed them right sides together and pressed the seam flat. I used twin needle topstitching over the seam and it made a ridge:

The ridges looked very nice on the raglan seams. I decided to keep them. The hem was simply folded up by 3/4" and topstitched 5/8" from the fold. The drape of this fabric is really nice. The pattern called for two way stretch knits, I don't know if this was a two way stretch but it seems to have enough.
The chevron pattern is easier to see in the second picture.

On to my next project!
